Organise
Helping you organise your content
Organising content on a site without a content management system (CMS) can be a reactive process. Much of the time you will have to create everything as and when you want it, from new page designs to publishing content. A CMS solution allows you to be proactive with content.
The features included in our CMS show how it is possible to create pages and content in a proactive manner.
We have selected six areas that we think will make your job easier:
- Cut / Copy / Paste
- Cut, Copy and Paste are tools familiar to most. Our CMS is no exception, you can use the built in buttons or keyboard short cuts. Items can be re-ordered by dragging them up or down.
- Time-based publishing
- If you need to publish content at a point in the future, you can create the content and delay its publication. This also works with content you only want on the site for a limited time, by setting an expiration date.
- Adjustable view templates
- If you want to change how visitors view content on the site, you can do so with ease. For example, if you want to change a folder into a photo album, with thumbnails, it can be done with two mouse clicks.
- Link and reference integrity checking
- When you have a large site, with multiple editors and content that is cross-referenced, it can be difficult to keep on top of changes. One of the most common problems is “dead links”. Our CMS has a built in tool to check if pages are linked to elsewhere in the site. When making a change to a page, the CMS will automatically make a change to subsequent links. Less frustration all round!
- Rules
- Rules can take the pain out of managing content. If you want to carry out repetitive actions, or planned actions let the system do the work for you. This can include a whole range of activities, including notifying people when a page is changed to moving content following a specific date.
- Automatic previous/next navigation
- Often, a user wants to quickly browse content in a folder and move effortlessly from one piece of content to the next without having to navigate away from the content item they are viewing.
